Can an AI learn to text like a specific person?
Yes. Given enough of someone's real messages, a system can reproduce their texting style closely enough that people who know them recognise it immediately — message length, abbreviations, punctuation, emoji use and the phrases they always reach for.

The parts of a texting style that carry identity
People assume voice lives in word choice. In practice the strongest identifying signals are structural: whether someone sends one long paragraph or six short bursts, whether they use full stops in casual chat, how they handle capitals, whether they answer a question before or after making a joke.
These are stable habits. They barely change across years, and they are nearly impossible to describe from memory — which is why a description-based persona never quite lands and a text-derived one does.
What imitation cannot reach
A style model knows how someone wrote, not what they would think about something that happened after the conversation ended. It has no access to private thoughts, no opinions it was not shown, and no ability to genuinely surprise you with new information about the person.

Can an AI copy my texting style?

How accurate is AI texting-style imitation?
Accuracy is not a single number, and anyone quoting one should be treated carefully. In practice: with a few thousand messages, people who know the person usually recognise the style within a handful of replies. With a few dozen messages, it reads like a generic assistant.
Does it copy typos and slang?
Yes, when they are consistent habits rather than one-off accidents. Recurring abbreviations, a signature misspelling or a particular way of laughing in text tend to survive, because they show up often enough to be part of the pattern.
Is this the same as a deepfake?
No. A deepfake reproduces someone's face or voice, usually to make it appear they said something they did not. This is text only, private to your account, clearly labelled as software, and prohibited from being used to impersonate a living person.
