Your chats are the most personal thing you own. We treat them that way.
Here is plainly what we do with what you upload — and what we never do.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Uploads and messages travel over HTTPS and are stored encrypted by our cloud provider.
Private to your account
Database rules tie every upload, person, and chat to your account. Other users cannot read them.
Managed cloud hosting
We run on managed infrastructure with automated backups. We do not keep copies on personal machines.
Sign-in you control
Email and password with reset. Email verification is required before you can add more than one person.
Not used to train public AI
Your chats are never sold, and never used to train foundation models.
Delete on demand
Settings has a one-click delete for all your uploads, people, and chats.
The details
Who processes your data
Neverfar runs on managed cloud hosting for the database, files, and sign-in. To write replies, the text of your chats is sent to AI model providers. Those providers process it to produce a reply and do not use it to train their public models under our agreements.
What we keep
- Your email and display name, so you can sign in.
- The chat files you upload and the messages we read out of them.
- The people you create and the conversations you have with them.
- Basic usage records, so we can keep the service running and bill correctly.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never share it with advertisers.
- We never use it to train foundation models.
- We never let another user see your uploads or chats.
Reporting a problem
If you think you found a security issue, email hello@neverfar.app with the details. Please do not post it publicly before we have had a chance to fix it. We reply to security reports first.
Honest limits
We are a small team. We are not certified under SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA, and we will not claim otherwise. If you need that level of assurance, Neverfar is not the right tool for you yet.
