    Privacy & safety

    Your chats are the most personal thing you own. We treat them that way.

    Here is plainly what we do with what you upload — and what we never do.

    Encrypted in transit and at rest

    Uploads and messages travel over HTTPS and are stored encrypted by our cloud provider.

    Private to your account

    Database rules tie every upload, person, and chat to your account. Other users cannot read them, and access controls are designed to prevent unauthorized access.

    Managed cloud hosting

    We run on managed infrastructure with automated backups. We do not keep copies on personal machines.

    Sign-in you control

    Secure account access with Google or a verified email link. A notification or billing email is not an authenticated identity.

    Not used to train public AI

    Your chats are never sold, and Neverfar does not use them for Neverfar's own foundation-model training. Content processed by third-party AI technology providers is subject to the applicable provider arrangements and data-use terms.

    Delete on demand

    Settings lets you delete the people you created and their chats. A deletion request to delete@neverfar.app covers your account and the personal data associated with it, not only uploaded files or personas, subject to information that we or relevant service providers are required or permitted to retain.

    Who processes your data

    Neverfar uses managed cloud services for storage and sign-in. AI providers receive chat content to generate replies under their applicable processing and data-use terms. Neverfar does not sell your content or use it for its own foundation-model training.

    What we keep

    • Your email and display name, so you can sign in.
    • The chat files you upload and the messages we read out of them.
    • The people you create and the conversations you have with them.
    • Basic usage records, so we can keep the service running and bill correctly.

    Our data practices

    • We never sell your data.
    • Advertising measurement may receive page, account-matching and purchase signals. Chat contents are not intentionally included in those payloads.
    • Neverfar does not use your chats for Neverfar's own foundation-model training.
    • We never let another user see your uploads or chats.

    Reporting a problem

    If you think you found a security issue, email hello@neverfar.app with the details. Please do not post it publicly before we have had a chance to fix it. We reply to security reports first.

    Honest limits

    We are a small team. We are not certified under SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA, and we will not claim otherwise. If you need that level of assurance, Neverfar is not the right tool for you yet.
