If you are going to upload the most personal text you own, you should know exactly where it goes. Here it is in plain language. The upload Your export is sent over an encrypted connection to private storage. It is not public, and it is not reachable by a URL that someone could guess or share. Only your account can read it back. What we do with it We read the file to do two things: First, split it into messages — who said what, when. Second, learn the writing style of the person you chose: their typical message length, phrases they repeat, punctuation habits, how they open and close a conversation, which languages they mix. When you chat, relevant parts of the conversation are used as context so the replies sound like them and know what you actually talked about. Where AI comes in Generating a reply means sending context to a model provider. That means parts of your conversation leave our servers to be processed. We use providers under agreements that do not permit training on the content sent through the API. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your chats to train anything of our own. If that trade-off is not acceptable to you, do not upload the chat. We would rather say that plainly than bury it. Who can see it You can. Our platform operators can access stored data for support and abuse investigation — that is true of every hosted product, and anyone claiming otherwise is not being straight with you. Nobody else has access. Deleting Delete a person and their uploaded file, parsed messages, learned profile and chat history are deleted with them. Delete your account and everything above goes, for every person you made. Deletion is not a hide. The rows are removed. Consent Uploading a chat means uploading someone else's words. Neverfar is for conversations you were part of. Do not upload chats you were not in, and do not build a persona of a living person for anything they would object to.
